When we set out to create Like the Wind, our intention was to invert the status quo as far as running magazines were concerned. That meant publishing long-form articles about the culture of running and related social issues; not publishing race reports, product reviews, nutrition tips or training advice; designing the magazine around beautiful photography and illustrations; keeping production values as high as possible; and reducing the reliance on advertising to make the magazine viable.
The last point was very important for us. We felt that by having just a small number of brands as partners, we could ensure everyone won. The brands we chose to work with would tell real stories and not be lost among endless pages of adverts. Our readers would be presented with a small number of brand features that would actually add to the magazine. And we would be able to invest in better content.
That model seems to be working well. And so we are very pleased to present the brands that will support Like the Wind from issues #31 to #34. There will be five sponsors in each issue. We want to thank Diadora, On Running, Whoop, Ciele Athletics and Zen Running Club for their support
