We are a unique running magazine made by runners, for runners. 116 pages of running stories, illustrated features and stunning photography. It’s not how to run, it’s #WhyWeRun.
In this issue we again explore the reasons we run and the experiences our sport gives us, from Marcus Ryder’s laugh-out-loud tale of briefly becoming an elite athlete in a Chinese marathon to Tina Chantrey’s emotionally rich story of how running helped her through the pain of divorce. Once more, we’re privileged to travel the world with our contributors, from the southernmost tip of Africa with Colin Souness to some amazing urban photography from Edmonton Canada’s Jody Bailey. Plus, we celebrate the London Marathon with pictures from Max Willcocks and our editor Simon Freeman remembers those very British pioneers of the four-minute mile.
We’re always thrilled to read powerfully written stories, and in this issue we’re really pleased to publish another piece from US writer Kase Johnstun, this time reflecting on why there’s no shame in a DNF. We also welcome words from Nick Smith, who recalls his pilgrimage to legendary Oregon track Hayward Field.
